“They only thing better than the feeling you get when you launch your boat for the first time in spring is the feeling you get when you out-fish your friend by an ounce!

Nothing brings out the smack talk like the first bass trip of spring.  After another long, cold winter, nothing puts the color back into your cheeks like a day on the lake, spent spitting out back-handed compliments with your friends.  Don’t forget why you’re out there – it’s to tell you buddy how good he’s become at casting as you maneuver the boat towards the tree his lure is stuck in.  It’s to reassure your pal that it’s no big deal when he misses a hookset on the only bite he’d gotten in the last two hours, and to remind him that there will be others.  It’s to remark about how nice of him it was to make such a fuss about catching such a little fish, just to make the fish feel better about itself.

This is what’s nice about fishing, or bowling, or darts, or anything that permits you a chunk of time to hold meaningless conversation with the friends you love.  No pressure.  No expectations.  Just casting, occasionally interrupted by a tug on your line that leads to a momentary surge of adrenaline…..and then more casting.

I wish you the best of luck this spring.  Let this be the year that you catch the most memorable fish of your life!  Get out with friends and cast some.  Maybe you’ll get lucky, catch a few fish and….if you do it right, crack a few smiles in the process. ”

Check Out These Three Local University Bass Clubs! What a great way to enjoy the outdoors and relieve the everyday stress of College on the weekends. I have talked to members of all three of these teams at local events and the Guys are all very competitive at the same time appreciative of the great outdoors! I hope to get the word out about College Fishing and get my two daughters into one of these schools on a BASS FISHING Scholarship!
